Not writing a fucking thing I actually think is a problem.
I get a recommendation - from a research co-ordinator to talk to, lets say, a 'director of innovation' from the 'education sector'..
I email her.
She's nice, til the cc's fall off and then she just ignores my emails..
I fantasise about being blacklisted. It's possible..
The systems often make it so.
In another walk of freelance life, I tender for some work doing business mentoring to 'Creative Start-ups'. I've been recommended for this but none of my previous work 'qualifies' as having the right credentials..
Still, I got a recommendation - an introduction. It's easy to stop anything good from happening by wasting time complaining about past shit. Althought a healthy dose of 'reflective learning is not a bad thing... Guess I'm in the loop.. How to turn it into money?
Suggestions:
1. Do something useful for people that they pay you for
2. Do something useful for someone and someone else pays you
3. Write a popular book called 'Bears Bulls n' Bonds': How We Exchange Stuff...
4. Write some writing workshops and peddle em..
5. Get book of poetry out there
6. Do some Open mic nights
7. Use 'Medium', 'Radical' folk, 3rd parties to get published etc...
