Something To Say

It was all anybody wanted he thought
Just to be understood and have your opinion respected
What, after all, can be wrong with that?

The day after the funeral came a letter
It made no sense to his daughter,
who was tidying up his affairs, angrily:

"We thank you for your kind submission
and are pleased to say we would very much
welcome a chance to discuss future investments"

She put the whole envelope in the bin
It wasn't as if anyone was giving money away
and the number of unpaid bills was just accursed...
