NEVER THE CAUSE - ALWAYS THE DISTRACTION.
Take the Hutus and the Tutsis in Rwanda - while we were all ignoring the genocide and refusing to admit any political purpose to the killings, what were the headlines in Germany and Belgium?
Imperialism needs a full apology - and then the money in the failing euroconomy needs to start following each specific african reprisal with hard cash.
Likelihood? nah - exactly. Never the cause....
"You dont look like me - I dont like you - now I dont like me - I dont like you still"
Wide set, 'jovial' and thick lipped. (Hutus) Things of the fields..
Taller, lighter more like 'us'. (Tutsis) Things for the house..
So we made money, made familia and pecunia - you and me.
Sins of the past - coming back two, four, eight-fold and rising. It's all so biblical.
Darfur happened and I didn't even notice because I was self employed, picture framing, a single-parent and proud.
We thought We were having a difficult time!
Today, We have 'Benefits Street'. We live in multi-ethnic society so the underclass cant be carved out on ethnic grounds. Instead we have, more and less specifically 'the poor'. The problem being that 'the poor' are, in fact, too rich, which means that the 'workers' (who are also, confusingly, the poor) cannot be rich enough.
I fall out with my daughter who tells me off for saying this stuff is comaparable to Nazi Germany and is, in fact, an insult to anyone of Jewish origin.
I see her point, but then, it wasn't just Germany who were to blame - even for the holocaust of the jews - it was a thought system and widely held beliefs which were supported globally, which appealed to everyone's most fundamental and base nature: Self preservation. Things that are not of 'us' or like 'us' are a threat. This means killing nearly everyone unfortunately..
I read on to discover that whilst the Belgians did enter Rwanda in 1916, it was only after a brief spell of German occupation, in which beliefs that the 'Tutsis' were in fact superior to the 'Hutus' ( strikes me they were all broadly the same). The reason the Tutsis were superior? More like US!
'WE' must be pretty wonderful! Next time someone says to me: "What would Britain have been like if the Germans had won the war?" I'll point them towards Rwanda. "Just don't believe the hype" I'll say.
Then I'll show them 'Benefits Street' - if I'm around long enough to be able to see the consequences of our latest version of 'US'.
Vaingloriousness. Love that word. LN, UN, the road to hell and its well intending pavement .. Tribal is the way to go and the way to stay. Make as many friends as you can and then stop. We are not designed to live in groups bigger than we can sustain. No other animal does and the size of herds and colonies have physical limitations based on real conditions.
The League Of Nations - sounded great. The United Nations - sounds ok - but seems to contain the even greater fallacy that we might all live together in 'unity'. Non-sense. We just need to live and not beyond our means - at least then we will have less need of any dominion over our neighbours. No lines in the sand necessary. No more vainglory. No more 'us'. More of 'Them' and more of 'Us'. Not more of us and less of them or less of us and more of them. Just enough.
sincerely,
One Of Them from Toys R Us.
